Intro
So your probably thinking this is some 1.5GB generic FPS that is F2P. You are right on one thing, it is F2P. However, it isn't like most free FPS that seem to be spamming the entirity of the internet. This is a great FPS to sink your teeth into, and there is no huge learning curve to it. It isn't as hard as counter-strike, but it isn't as easy as the COD4 campaign. All it takes is some patience. You might not be amazing straight away, but then again, who is? This game is not a huge download, it is about 48MB to download, and 2MB for an update. Convenience at its best? You won't find another game under 48MB as good as this - I bet you won't even find a game under 48MB except Tibia.

Gameplay
You are a soldier, who has a gun, and you shoot people. You die, and you respawn - that is the general happenings of an FPS. In this, however, shooting people is fun. It is fun because the maps are laid out well. You have the choice of four guns, which take a while to get used to. It is certainly annoying when your team kills you, when your on a good kill streak. TEAM KILLING IS ALLOWED! AH! I don't know how many times I have screamed because somebody ON MY TEAM has shot me with a sniper. Or I have respawned along with another team mate, and he weakens me with an Assault Rifle - major aggro between us. You play in a large variety of maps. The game starts to get boring soon, because there are four weapons, and there is only so many times you can kill a person a certain way and go, "Woah". The game also starts to get annoying when there are dual pistols, and body armour scattered around the map - why not put them as selectable weapons for you to choose? Rather than going around the map with your pistol, and somebody has found dual pistols around the map, which they will obviously kill you with! Annoying.
Presentation
The graphics aren’t the best in this game and probably the reason that the game is not well known. The character models act unrealistic and the graphics are poor but to be honest it doesn’t matter. If I wanted nice graphics I would buy COD 4 and drool over them like some fat guy from an animated series. Maybe im being harsh, you have got to remember it is a free game and it’s not what most gamers are use to. The graphics are good and are just enough for you to get by with and even more on some occasions and you have got some nice light features and sometimes if you squint it is realistic. To the sound, the sound on this game is not really worth mentioning but it is just like the graphics poor, most of the time there so bad its funny for example the death noises. One thing that I do like is if you press v (default controls) and 1 you have a wide selection of team commands narrated by the retarded cousin of the Scout out of Team Fortress 2 . It can get annoying when someone spam’s it but that doesn’t happen that much, also it can be hilarious when it says sorry. Overall I like the graphics and it’s always nice and neat and there’s no texture popping but on the other hand you can see the sky is just slapped on there and you just want better.

Guns
There are four guns in this gun, as I have mentioned a lot of times. A shotgun, an assault rifle which is amazing, a submachine gun, which is completely USELESS, and a sniper, which is the thing that gets you a lot of kills. It is a killing machine. It is possible to kill three people with one sniper bullet - I pulled it off once. It was a proper jaw dropping moment. The only problem is that it is really easy to get kills. One sniper bullet to any part of the body, or just a few taps of the assault rifle. The game needs more guns. There are just a mass of people who use the sniper and just run around with it, and don't think tactically. They usually run into a firefight with a guy with an assault rifle, and just keep jumping around tapping the left mouse button. Classic sniping is much more fun, especially hitting them in the head... good times - good times.

Maps/modes
Maps and modes is what this game really succeeds in, you have some great maps which are perfectly balanced and the modes are solid and has one shot one kill that really tests your sniping abilities. There are some odd maps but most really shine in this engine. There is some odd item placement and sometimes you’re not sure if you’re safe or not which can be a bit off a pain. Firstly the modes, the modes are all pretty average and there are only 3 main ones that people play. Team deathmatch, CTF and my personal favourite one shot, one kill. One shot, one kill puts you into a team deathmatch or a regular deathmatch with a sniper and a knife. The thing is you only have 1/100 health and if you get hit your dead, one shot. It can be quite annoying and linear but if the host chooses a good map its buckets of fun. Talking of maps, maps are very good in this game and the original ones are fun and with the editor have lost of possibilities. Some people have made some really weird maps and some are just plain cool. These two elements make this game great and really fun to play.

Verdict
So as we come to the end of this review as we hear the music play just like how an Assault Cube game ends. No but seriously Assault Cube is a game you should download and if you don’t like it just delete from your computer, simple. It’s a good game and you should download it and don’t worry about the graphics or the lack of guns. It’s a solid game, see you on the cube!
